What the reading shows
- Each signer: name, organisation, country and the identifier in the certificate.
- Who issued the certificate, its serial number and its dates.
- The signing time the signer stated, and whether a time stamp is attached.
- Whether the signature matches the content and the certificate inside the file.
- The SHA-256 of the file, so you can show which file you checked.
What it does not do
- It does not confirm legal validity: the issuer, the trust list and revocation are not checked. Use the verifier of the certificate provider for that.
- It does not read signatures inside a PDF (PAdES) or encrypted .p7e files.
- It does not upload, store or log your file.
